The Concourses, Fans’ Park, and Megastore are becoming overcrowded

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback that the concourses, Fans’ Park, and Megastore are becoming overcrowded, with long queues and bottlenecks forming during busy periods.

‘We Answered’

For the final three home games of the season, we expanded the Fans’ Park area at Pride Park Stadium to help reduce overcrowding and congestion around the concourses.

The aim was to spread supporters across a larger external fan zone before and after matches, rather than having large numbers gathering inside the stadium concourses where queues and bottlenecks had become an issue.

The expanded area included additional food and drink vendors, more space for supporters to gather, and enhanced entertainment and facilities to improve crowd flow and the overall matchday experience. The club is reviewing ways to expand the Fans’ Park further in future seasons to better accommodate growing demand from supporters.

Introduced a Portable Ministore in Fans’ Park and a Secondary Internal Ministore in Harrison’s Hub to help reduce pressures on the main store.

The club does recognise that concourse areas can become busy during peak times, particularly at high-attendance fixtures. The club continues to monitor supporter feedback, crowd flow and matchday operations closely to help improve this.

Fans are standing in seated areas

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback that there are concerns about fans standing in seated areas.

‘We Answered’

The club acknowledges that persistent standing has become a regular issue in certain parts of Pride Park, particularly where groups of supporters preferred to stand throughout matches. In response, we introduced licensed safe-standing areas in designated sections of the stadium to provide a safer and more controlled environment for supporters who wish to stand.

Supporters are regularly reminded to remain considerate of those around them, particularly where standing may impact the matchday experience of others, while the club continues to monitor feedback from both supporters who wish to stand and those affected by obstructed views.

Safe Standing

‘You Asked’

Supporters asked for safe standing in the East Stand.

‘We Answered’

While there have been requests for safe standing in the East Stand, any expansion of licensed safe-standing areas is subject to strict regulatory, safety and operational requirements. The club must carefully consider stadium infrastructure, supporter demographics, crowd management and guidance from relevant safety authorities before any further expansion can be implemented.

More Pre-Match and Half-Time Entertainment

‘You Asked’

Supporters asked for more pre-match and half-time entertainment.

‘We Answered’

As part of a trial during the final three home league games of the 2025/26 season, Fans’ Park was expanded to give supporters a dedicated outdoor space with live entertainment, food and drink options, and activities for younger fans before kick-off.

Inside the stadium, a range of interactive features have also been introduced for pre-match and half-time, including a Matchday Quiz, Predictions, Head-to-Head Stats, Fan Photos and a Young Rams Gallery, with supporters also helping to shape the Matchday Playlist with their own submissions, which is an initiative that we have maintained for two successive seasons.

Lack of handrails and some steep steps

‘You Asked’

Supporters have provided feedback highlighting a lack of handrails and steep steps, particularly in the West Stand Upper Tier.

‘We Answered’

The club continues to conduct ongoing risk assessments to determine where additional safety upgrades or guidance may be necessary.

Awareness of accessibility

You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback that awareness of accessibility for fans with temporary injuries or mobility issues could be improved, with some supporters unsure how to enquire about the options available.

‘We Answered’

The club has strengthened communication around its accessibility services and matchday assistance, including updates to the website to improve clarity and ease of access to key information.

You can find the Accessibility Hub here.

Traffic Management

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback about traffic management and exiting the stadium by car, including concerns around congestion and delays after matches, and asked whether food and drink stands could remain open.

‘We Answered’

Concerns around traffic congestion and exiting the stadium by car are being continuously addressed through improved steward direction, revised traffic management plans and ongoing coordination with local authorities.

The club also kept the Fans’ Park open following the final three home league fixtures of the 2025/26 season to help stagger post-match crowd movement. This also provided a valuable opportunity to assess whether extending the opening hours of additional facilities would work in this regard.

Ticket Collection Signage

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback that home ticket collection signage causes confusion around where to collect tickets on matchdays.

‘We Answered’

Supporters can find details of the home ticket collection point in the online Fans' Guide and via the Matchday Hub under the tab ‘Supporters’.

If supporters are still unsure before travelling to Pride Park Stadium, they are encouraged to contact the Supporter Services Team by emailing slo@dcfc.co.uk

Concerns about accessibility on matchdays

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback with concerns raised about occasional issues affecting access on matchdays, including the use of lifts.

‘We Answered’

The club have undertaken maintenance and reliability checks on lifts to ensure accessibility routes remain operational and dependable.

Concourse Water and Hand dryers

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback raising concerns over very hot water in toilets and the performance of hand dryers.

‘We Answered’

The club have recently carried out checks on the affected facilities, and should supporters experience any further issues of this nature, they are encouraged to report them through the appropriate reporting channel immediately, so that they can be investigated and addressed promptly.

If you’re unsure on how to report an issue or concern, please visit here.

Stadium PA System

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback that the PA system is difficult to hear in several areas of the stadium, with fans reporting issues hearing interviews, announcements, and music clearly.

‘We Answered’

The club carries out regular sound checks on the stadium PA system to help maintain audio quality across all areas of the stadium and ensure announcements, interviews and matchday information remain as clear and consistent as possible.

LED Board Brightness

‘You Asked’

Supporters asked if the brightness of the advertising LED boards could be reduced.

‘We Answered’

The club monitors this at every game and adjusts the brightness when required.

Matchday Road Closure Information

‘You Asked’

Supporters gave feedback requesting clearer reminders of road closures in pre-match emails.

‘We Answered’

The club makes a strong effort to include information around road closures in pre-match emails, alongside updates across social media channels and within the Fans’ Guide on the website, as soon as the information is received.
